As a Brooke Owens Fellow in summer 2017, I co-authored a report on the very small satellite industry (satellites ≤600 kg) while working at Bryce Space and Technology. The report describes launch numbers, trends in satellite operators and manufacturers, and patterns in satellite use over the past 5 to 6 years. The report concludes with a future outlook. We presented our findings at the end of the summer in a firm-wide meeting.
